New album

A Mythmaker's Demise

Twenty years after Oniric Metal, Lalu comes full circle: an album built on legacy, brotherhood and raw musicianship, recorded as performances rather than assembled in a lab.

Producers' notes

Vivien Lalu

"Twenty years ago this year, the release of Oniric Metal was the spark that lit the fire. To celebrate that legacy, I invited the original voice of the project, Martin LeMar, to return and mark this milestone with us."

"We wanted this album to feel organic, alive. No drum samples. Next to no EQ. Just clean performances captured in their natural state, mixed almost untouched to preserve that live, breathing energy."

Joop Wolters

"Twenty years went by like a breeze with this project, where creativity and respect still work hand in hand. We always created an environment that is more about giving than receiving, which has created many great memories and friendships."

"Locking in with the real, unedited live drums by the great Simon Phillips in the final stages of the album was, for me, once again the icing on the cake. Real band feel, just like back in the good ol' days."
